Black Sands, An Animated Pilot based on the Award-winning Comics

Black Sands follows the young prince Ausar on his path to become the next Pharaoh of Kemet when he and his kin are dragged into a war that threatens the realms of men. What Is UNIQUE about Black Sands compared to it’s competition is the extreme attention to detail in the narrative, political relationships, and mythological lore placed in the story. It is not simply a “Black Version of Avatar.” It is an epic story about a time period in history long forgotten.

Hey guys,  

I just spoke with my casting director and he told me my recruitment page is too vague and will need some changes, including adding a bunch of very specific instructions to ensure you do not get set up for failure.  As a result, we will not start until next Friday..   

We will begin next Friday guaranteed after we implement these changes to improve the selection process. The good thing is you have time to get your set up ready because the instructions will be very specific on how to implement it.

THE TIME HAS COME CASTING FOR ALL ROLES

Today we are excited to announce that casting begins this weekend for all roles in the DVD not already claimed previously from past work. Characters include Auset, Nuit, Seth, Tehuti, and the most important of them all... Ausar!  

How casting works  

Here are some important details:  

  • We will be casting for voice actors online. 
  • There will be two different recruitment rounds, one private, and one public. You must select no more than two characters to apply for. 
  • All submissions must be made via YouTube link to demo reel or application. No downloads or attachments. 
  • All submissions must be emailed to our recruitment email address. Judgment will be based on voice, quality of recording, timeliness, and influence. 

Important qualifiers are below.

THESE ARE CRITICAL  

The private round of applications will be EXCLUSIVE to active patrons and Kickstarter backers. 

The Reasons are as follows:  

  • They helped grow the business and make this movie possible. 
  • They are active supporters in the company. 
  • Many signed up exclusively for this right. If you are reading this and you are one of these two catagories, there is nothing more to read. Simply wait for the casting call email through patron and kickstarter. 

If you want to be a part of the private casting, you must sign up for Patron at $5 a month. This will put you on an even playing field with everyone else who signed up to make this movie happen. Casting begins Friday in the private round. It will last a month. If there are any roles left open after the private round, we will open it up to the public. The likelihood of that is low though because we have a potential 1100 applicants.

We will be using backerkit for our rewards this time as we did in our last two campaigns. It is efficient and easy to use. You will be able to confirm your address for your items and give us the name you wish to use for your accreditation. 

You will also see some items available for purchase as well should you be so inclined. We will have a major update next week regarding the animation. We are almost done with the first part of the storyboard.
